British Embassy in Kathmandu hosts Gurkha 200 reception

Around 400 current and former members of the Brigade of Gurkhas attended a reception at the British embassy in Kathmandu last night, 25 March 2015, as part of the celebrations of Gurkha 200.

Ambassador Mr Andy Sparkes CMG had invited people from around the world including association members, serving soldiers, families and a range of dignitaries associated with the Gurkhas to enjoy an evening of food and drinks in the beautiful embassy grounds.

Commander BGN Colonel Sean Harris, General Sir David Bill KCB and Charge d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Kathmandu, Guy Harrison each addressed the attendees and congratulated the Brigade of Gurkhas on an outstanding 200 year long heritage.

The band of the Brigade of Gurkhas provided a quintet of musicians to supply the soundtrack to a wonderful evening.
