Chief of General Staff bids farewell to MOD but remains close to the Gurkhas

On Friday the 5th of September Sir Peter Wall stood down as the Chief of General Staff having completed 4 years in post and he’s now retired from the Army.  The outgoing CGS, who took up post on 15 September 2010, said that his main message to the Department was one of good luck for the future.

General Sir Peter will remain as Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas and importantly see through Gurkha 200 in 2015.  He will also remain as the Chairman of the Gurkha Welfare Trust for the foreseeable future.
