QG Signals bid farewell to its Colonel of the Regt, Maj Gen N A W Pope CBE

Members of QG Signals from all Squadrons including their families, QG Signals Association members and past Gurkha Majors gathered in 250 Gurkha Signal Squadron, Bramcote on 5 Dec to formally bid farewell to their Colonel, Maj Gen Nick Pope CBE. Maj Gen Pope took over the prestigious role of the QG Signals Colonel of the Regiment in April 2005.

The farewell programme started with the “Towing Out”, which sees the Col of the Regt in an extravagantly decorated land rover with all of the Officers and SNCOs towing his vehicle up to the guard room whilst the rest of the Regiment lined either side of the route cheering in appreciation. A Guard of Honour greeted him at the guard room and finally the programme ended after he signed the visitors’ book.

He is now taking over the post of Deputy Chief of General Staff (DCGS) on his recent promotion to Lieutenant General.
