On 1st June 2019, Riflemen from Intake 18 in 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles visited Portsmouth to learn about the UK’s maritime history. The visit was organised by Corporal Bijay Rai (Signal Platoon).
Intake 18 visited Her Majesty’s Ship Victory, the Historic Dockyard, The Mary Rose, the National Museum of the Royal Navy, and the Spinnaker Tower.
The Brigade of Gurkhas takes one Intake a year; through 11 months of training and shared experiences together, each intake becomes very close. Intakes are known to each other as ‘numberis’ because of their sequential Army numbers, and work hard to maintain their bond throughout their Army careers, and beyond.
