Towards the end of last week, 70 Gurkha Field Squadron were officially re-subordinated to 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment as 70 Gurkha Parachute Squadron. This is part of the restructuring of not only the Brigade of Gurkhas but the British Army under the Future Soldier programme of changes.
The Squadron will fall under 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team and will comprise of two Field Troops, a Reservists Field Troop, a Support Troop, Echelon and Squadron Headquarters.
