Join the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas for an exciting, entertaining performance full of the warmth and enthusiasm that only Gurkhas can create on 7th April 2017. At the The Princess Theatre, Hunstanton.

The Band will perform an eclectic mix of western music with eastern music, culture and dances (including the famous kukri dance).

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Gurkha Welfare Trust’s work supporting Gurkha veterans, their families and communities.

Members of B (Gallipoli) Company, The Royal Gurkha Rifles are currently deployed on Exercise PACIFIC KUKRI 22 in Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Australia. Over the course of three weeks, they will conduct live firing and blank firing training in the challenging Australian bush environment in order to prepare for their upcoming transition to 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team in the UK.

Personnel from The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles have deployed on Exercise OLGETA WARRIOR 22 (Ex OW22) to Papua New Guinea to conduct partnered training alongside the Australian Defence Force to the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. Ex OW22 is delivering this training as part of the UK Defence Engagement with our Allies to strengthen our ties and improve their capability.

Mortar Platoon from Support (Medicina) Company of The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles conducted an Urban live firing shoot from Cellini Village, Sennybridge, Brecon, building the soldiers’ confidence to adapt quickly in the future urban environment. The soldiers also experienced test the Raschen Bag system, which will provide the mortar detachment with a readily available means of base plate preparation that will permit prolonged firing with high charges off almost all difficult surfaces. The Army's priority is to be ready to war fight when the nation and its allies are threatened.

The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles Junior Leadership Cadre for intake 19 have taken to the Jungle in Brunei. Over the last few weeks, students have been put through their paces delivering battle exercises and challenging navigation assessments. During the eight-week course, students will spend prolonged periods in the jungles of Brunei, developing the skills and leadership qualities they will need as they progress further in their careers in the British Army.
