British Gurkhas Nepal welcomed Hari Budha Magar

Welcome return to Kathmandu

On the 25th of May 2023, British Gurkhas Nepal (BGN) was honoured to welcome and congratulate Gurkha veteran Hari Budha Magar who has made history by becoming the first person with a double above-knee amputation to scale Mount Everest successfully.

Hari achieved this feat carrying his legacy of a British Gurkha veteran and the Ambassador of The Gurkha Welfare Trust. Colonel Paul Smith, Commander BGN, Lieutenant Colonel Rajeshkumar Gurung, Deputy Commander BGN, Gurkha veterans, Officers and entire staff and families’ community of BGN Kathmandu were present to welcome and congratulate him on his success.
