Brigade of Gurkha Annual Golf Championship 2020 - 18th September 2020

The Brigade of Gurkhas Annual Golf Championship was held on Friday 18th September at Weybrook Park Golf Course, Basingstoke in Hampshire played between 13 teams from Brigade of Gurkhas Units.

The event was conducted in line with current Government guidelines the rule of six and ‘Stay Safe, Play Safe policy for sport in the UK.

Overall Unit Champion:

  • Champion team of the Year 2020 – Gurkha Company Sittang
  • 1st Runners up – Gurkha Company Catterick
  • 2nd Runners up – The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles

Individual Top Five:

  • 1st Captain Bhakta Prasad Sherchan (The Royal Gurkha Rifles) – The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles
  • 2nd Runners up – SSgt Gajendra Gurung (Queen’s Gurkha Engineers) – Gurkha Company Sittang
  • 3rd Runners up – Major Rajesh Gurung (The Royal Gurkha Rifles) – Gurkha Company Catterick
  • 4th Captain Ashok Gurung – Gurkha Company (Queen’s Gurkha Engineers) – Gurkha Company Catterick
  • 5th Major Om Pun (Queen’s Gurkha Signals) – Gurkha Company Sittang

Novelty Prizes:

  • Nearest the Pin Front – Major Mukunda Gurung (The Royal Gurkha Rifles) – Headquarter Brigade of Gurkhas
  • Nearest to the Pin Back – Captain Mahandra Phagami (The Royal Gurkha Rifles) – Gurkha Company Sittang
  • Longest Drive – Captain Sanjeev Rai (Queen’s Gurkha Signals) – Queens Gurkha Signals

All activities took place under the strict COVID-19 guidelines at the time of the event.
