The Gurkha Brigade Association represents all the Regimental Associations of Britain’s Brigade of Gurkhas. Veterans and serving, and all ranks, anyone who has served with the Brigade of Gurkhas is a member. Our role is to foster comradeship and welfare, to preserve the heritage and history of the Brigade of Gurkhas and to sponsor and support Association or Brigade events. We work very closely with Headquarters the Brigade of Gurkhas, the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Gurkha Museum, for the benefit of our soldiers and ex-servicemen. We provide information on relevant news and events, in UK and abroad, as well as help and advice for those starting a second career outside the Brigade

Brigade of Gurkhas Inter Unit Ladies’ Badminton Competition

18th September 2018

10 Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) organised an unprecedented Brigade of Gurkhas (BG) Inter Unit Ladies’ Badminton competition.

The Gurkha ladies, all spouses of Gurkha soldiers within the BG represented four major units; QOGLR, 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles (RGR), Queens Gurkha Engineers (QGE) and the Queens Gurkha Signals (QG Signals).

The winners were presented with individual trophies and the winning team 1 RGR was presented with a running shield with the statement that this competition will now take place every year. The runner up team for this year was QGE. 

Inter Unit Team Event

Winner: 1 RGR 
Runners up: QGE

Ladies Open Doubles

Winner: Mrs Ranjana Thakuri and Mrs Bimala Saru Rana (1 RGR )

Runner up: Mrs Manita Rai and Mrs Rebeeca Limbu ( QGE )

The Badminton competition was organised by Corporal Netra Gurung and Lance Corporal Lok Thapa. Overall organised under direction of Gurkha Major QOGLR Major Chakra Khatri with assistance from Captain Ganesh Gurung. The day concluded with a social event at a local restaurant.
