COVID-19 medical equipment support pledged by the British Army to the Nepali Army has arrived in Kathmandu. The Royal Air Force (RAF) C-17 landed at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu on Monday, 20th December 2021 with the medical equipment. Colonel Paul Smith, Defence Attaché & Commander British Gurkhas Nepal handed over the equipment to Technical Colonel Dr. Moon Thapa of the Nepali Army.

The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 R

The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 RGR) has won this year’s PARAS 10 challenge, held on the 30th of September 2023.

PARAS 10 is the ultimate 10-mile endurance race. It is based on the 10-mile run from The Parachute Regiment’s P Company test week. There are two races: the PARAS’ 10 TAB, where you must complete the course in boots, carrying a 35lb pack. Or the PARAS’ 10 RUN over the same course without bergen and boots. The team from 2 RGR won both categories and team members were first in both races.

PARAS’10 is jointly run by SUPPORT OUR PARAS and P Company military staff who are serving in The Parachute Regiment. It is a non-profit event with all proceeds going to the charity which benefits our soldiers and their families.

Eight jungle warfare instructors from The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles trained with US, Fijian, Australian, and New Zealand partners in jungle operations. This took place in the Noussori Highland Training Area. It aided in strengthening UK partnerships and mutual understanding in the Indo-Pacific.

This evening teams gathered at the start point of Trailwalker 23 at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire. Trailwalker is the ultimate in long-distance challenges, raising vital funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Teams from the Brigade of Gurkhas, lead the charge, but thousands of competitors take part from all age groups and levels of experience. The event is organised and run by the Gurkha Welfare Trust, volunteers, and Gurkhas from the Queen's Gurkha Signals.

The Queen’s Gurkha Signals (QG SIGNALS) celebrat

The Queen’s Gurkha Signals (QG SIGNALS) celebrated its 74th Regimental Birthday Parade on Saturday the 16th of September 2023, at Bramcote. The parade was witnessed by the Colonel of the Regiment, Corps Colonel Royal Signals, Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas, Commander, and Gurkha Major QG SIGNALS. Veterans and their families were also present. On the same occasion, Colonel of the Regiment inaugurated the Heritage Room of the QG SIGNALS.
