Gurkha Recruits at the race start point

For the sixth year in a row, Gurkha Recruits from Catterick and their Instructors took part in the Great North 10K Run in Gateshead, Newcastle which was held this year on 9th July. 

The Great North 10 kilometres Run is a sister event to the Great North Run, the Half Marathon which takes place in September.

There were more than 5,000 Participants in this years run, including 200 recruits and permanent staff from Gurkha Company whose participation in this event was organised by Captain Ashok Gurung and Sergeant Dipesh.

Gurkha Trainees started their race by shouting AYO GURKHALI and, once they had all successfully crossed the finish line, Captain Ashok was delighted to be able to present Eric Wilkins, the Chief Operating Officer for the event with a Gurkha Company Plaque.
