The first ever Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support (GSPS) Commissioning Parade for the newly commissioned Officers this year and Kasam Khane Parade for other ranks was held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) on 22nd November 19.
This special event was attended by many GSPS members and families from across the UK as well as representatives from Brunei and Nepal.

Colonel J P Davies MBE, Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas (Col BG) addressed the meeting who was delighted to see so many of the GSPS members in attendance. He highlighted the Headquarters’ Brigade of Gurkhas current key work strands in Gurkha growth and the opportunities that will present. Officer Commanding GSPS, Major Jit Hamal then updated the forum of the GSPS specific growth as well as opportunities and challenges, emphasizing the importance of individual and team excellence in seizing the opportunities with both hands.
Officers & SNCOs’ and Ladies Dinner Night
Held in the Indian Army Memorial Room, Old College Sandhurst with families and distinguished guests; Colonel A D Griffiths OBE (Colonel of the Regiment GSPS), Colonel Caroline Hull (to be Brigadier and Professional Head of SPS) and Major Davy Alexander (SO2 SPS Structure/Plans). The GSPS Soldier of the year 2018 (Corporal Taraman) and 2019 (Lance Corporal Nauraj) were special invites to the Dinner Night. Delicious food cooked by chef’s from the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, music by the Army Medical Services Brass Quintet and a Piper (Corporal Nirmal Thapa Royal Gurkha Rifles) supported the event.
Colonel GSPS presented the prestigious award of GSPS Soldier of the Year 2019 to Lance Corporal Nauraj and addressed the dinner with his words of appreciation, wisdom and encouragement.
