Gurkhas to take on the Dancon March in Estonia

Dancon March in Estonia for the Gurkha Welfare Trust

Nine personnel from the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) are to take on the Dancon march in Tapa Camp, Estonia on the 30th of July. currently deployed on Operation CABRIT, Estonia. There are 24 personnel in Tapa from QOGLR working under the Theatre Support Squadron, where they are providing logistic elements to the deployed Battle Groups.
The Dancon March is a 25km march carrying 10kg and is to be completed under 6-hours to qualify for the medal. This has been a Danish Defence tradition since 1972. The March tests all participants physical capabilities whilst at the same time, strengthening bonds between partner forces deployed alongside our Danish counterparts. They are aiming to raise funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust who support Gurkha veterans and their immediate families in Nepal.
