Highlights from Gurkha Selection 2021 and Attestation Parade

1st March 2021

Selection for the Brigade of Gurkhas has now taken place and the lucky few selected in Nepal have made the trip to the UK and to the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick where they will spend the next nine months with Gurkha Company Catterick training to be Infantry Soldiers.

During that training, they will be allocated to different parts of the Brigade of Gurkhas, but all are trained as Infantry Soldiers first.

The selection for Recruit Intake 21 was different to previous years due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the very best was once again selected. A small parade took place at Pokhara, Nepal with the British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, giving a speech of congratulations and thanking the successful recruits for choosing to join the British Army.
