The Gurkha Brigade Association represents all the Regimental Associations of Britain’s Brigade of Gurkhas. Veterans and serving, and all ranks, anyone who has served with the Brigade of Gurkhas is a member. Our role is to foster comradeship and welfare, to preserve the heritage and history of the Brigade of Gurkhas and to sponsor and support Association or Brigade events. We work very closely with Headquarters the Brigade of Gurkhas, the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Gurkha Museum, for the benefit of our soldiers and ex-servicemen. We provide information on relevant news and events, in UK and abroad, as well as help and advice for those starting a second career outside the Brigade
David is planning to cycle LEJOG again in 2022 to raise money for the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
He has done this before in 2019 and also organised a similar ride round Britain last summer as well wants to get the whole team from the start to the finish successfully. He is looking for anyone who might be interested in joining him either as a rider or as part of his support crew of drivers. It’s an iconic ride and a great experience that takes you through some of the most amazing scenery in the UK including:
Cornwall, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Cheddar Gorge, Wye Valley, Shropshire Hills, Lake District, Scottish Lowlands, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, The Great Glen, Loch Ness and up to John O’Groats itself.
Dates are currently flexible but will be either in the month before the school holidays or in the week or two after but the outline of the ride would be as follows:
If you wanted to do this as an individual it would cost about £1500 or more but it can be done far more cheaply and with all the same fun and adventure. He has probably six or seven riders already keen so he is looking for another 2 or 3 if possible so do let him know by email to david@bigpictureltd.com if you might be interested in hearing more.
