HRH Princess Royal presented Major Tolbahadur Khamcha, GM QG SIGNALS with the Chief of the General Staff Commendation during her visit to 30 Signal Regiment on 26 March 2015.
The commendation was awarded for the work he had undertaken whilst he was at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). For significant periods of his tour, when Station Staff Officer (SSO) post was gapped, he had been ‘triple hatted’, as 2IC/COS SSU, RMAS Security Officer and SSO.
Whilst he was standing SSO he coordinated a highly successful Career Transition Symposium with over 170 civilian businesses participating at the Academy for the benefit of soldiers transitioning to civilian life.
As the Security Officer, he had driven improvements in the Security Plan, including a complete review of all procedures and the introduction of new measures which have significantly enhanced the security of the Academy.
He had also been instrumental in forging excellent relationships with the two neighbouring Police Forces, namely Surrey and Bracknell Police Force as well as other Emergency Services, injecting energy and enthusiasm when needed. He coordinated several new joint security exercises involving all emergency services which were particularly grateful for the opportunities to practice and test their responses to Major Incidents. His initiative and hard work promoted the reputation of the Academy and Army.
This is Maj Tol’s 3rd commendations and previous 2 were Comdt RMAS commendation and Commander British Forces Commendation from Op WARDEN.
Col of the Regt, Comd & All Ranks QG SIGNALS congratulate him for receiving such high accolades and wishes him all the best for the future.
