Nepal Cup fixtures 2022

Nepal Cup draw 2022, Kathmandu Cup 2022 and Inter Unit Ladies volleyball draw took place in Headquarters Brigade of Gurkhas on 18th of May 2022.

Competition is fierce with all the Gurkha units keen to win. The rounds will take place across the UK at Gurkha barracks and the Final will take place in Aldershot on the 9th of July at the Brigade Bhela.

The dates for the Nepal Cup league are as follows:

14 June 2022 – Folkestone
16th June 2022 – Maidstone
21st June 2022 – Bramcote
23rd June 2022 – Gloucester
27th June 2022 – Maidstone
9th July 2022 – Aldershot – Nepal Cup Final and Kathmandu Cup

Members of B (Gallipoli) Company, The Royal Gurkha Rifles are currently deployed on Exercise PACIFIC KUKRI 22 in Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Australia. Over the course of three weeks, they will conduct live firing and blank firing training in the challenging Australian bush environment in order to prepare for their upcoming transition to 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team in the UK.

Mortar Platoon from Support (Medicina) Company of The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles conducted an Urban live firing shoot from Cellini Village, Sennybridge, Brecon, building the soldiers’ confidence to adapt quickly in the future urban environment. The soldiers also experienced test the Raschen Bag system, which will provide the mortar detachment with a readily available means of base plate preparation that will permit prolonged firing with high charges off almost all difficult surfaces. The Army's priority is to be ready to war fight when the nation and its allies are threatened.

Over the last few weeks, students have been put through their paces delivering battle exercises and challenging navigation assessments. During the eight-week course, students will spend prolonged periods in the jungles of Brunei, developing the skills and leadership qualities they will need as they progress further in their careers in the British Army.
