On Saturday 14th of May 2022, two teams of four from Gurkha Company (Sittang), Royal Military Academy Sandhurst took part in the PARAS' 10 fund raising event at Colchester led by Sergeant Tulasi Gurung.
PARAS’ 10 race is now firmly established as one of the UK’s must-do endurance challenges. The ultimate 10-mile endurance race is open to both civilian and military personnel. It is managed by the serving soldiers of the Parachute Regiment, aiming to raise funds for “Support our PARAS” whilst providing a challenging and enjoyable event that remains key to the event’s success. The event comprises 10 miles of tabbing or running over undulating military land around the training areas of Colchester, Essex, UK.
The intent was to push our young junior soldiers and motivate them to undertake similar challenges in the future. This event promotes team building, cohesion, community engagement, physical fitness and enhances Operational effectiveness. Both teams completed the event successfully, a free run team managed to secure second position and a tabbing team secured third position on a challenging warm day and mixture of undulating and swampy land.
