This evening teams gathered at the start point of Trailwalker 23 at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire. Trailwalker is the ultimate in long-distance challenges, raising vital funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Teams from the Brigade of Gurkhas, lead the charge, but thousands of competitors take part from all age groups and levels of experience. The event is organised and run by the Gurkha Welfare Trust, volunteers, and Gurkhas from the Queen's Gurkha Signals.

The Queen’s Gurkha Signals (QG SIGNALS) celebrat

The Queen’s Gurkha Signals (QG SIGNALS) celebrated its 74th Regimental Birthday Parade on Saturday the 16th of September 2023, at Bramcote. The parade was witnessed by the Colonel of the Regiment, Corps Colonel Royal Signals, Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas, Commander, and Gurkha Major QG SIGNALS. Veterans and their families were also present. On the same occasion, Colonel of the Regiment inaugurated the Heritage Room of the QG SIGNALS.

The Brigade of Gurkhas Training Team (BTT) deliver

The Brigade of Gurkhas Training Team (BTT) delivered Exercise PRE CAMBRIAN PATROL at Sennybridge Training Area in Wales. A total of 16 teams participated. 13 were from the Brigade of Gurkhas, and the remainder from 1 RIFLES (British Army), Qatar Army, and Nepali Army.

On a warm summer day in July 2023, Gurkha Company

On a warm summer day in July 2023, Gurkha Company (Tavoleto) (GCT) Fitness Challenge took place. Physical Training Instructor, Rifleman Milandip Angdembe planned and coordinated this vigorous fitness challenge. The main objective was to give an example of keeping soldiers out of their comfort zone and gaining optimum output in both combatant and non-combatant field. This is the first time such a competition has been organised by GCT in Waterloo Lines. Individuals gathered at the designated location, ready to push their physical limits and compete against each other.

The fitness challenge focused on cardiovascular, strength and agility. It included a 2km run, casualty drag, push-ups, jerry can carry, box jumps, overhead press, burpees, and rowing.

• 1st Place - Rifleman Mandip Thapa
• 2nd Place - Rifleman Sanam Gharti Magar
• 3rd Place - Rifleman Saurav Khand

All the competitors, united in their shared experience, had proven themselves capable of conquering the challenges.

The Brigade of Gurkhas first ever running camp is underway in the Brecon Beacons! 40 runners from units across the Brigade are in attendance at the camp which seeks to develop athletes’ knowledge through both theory and practical lessons in this multi-disciplined sport. Many of those in attendance are teams participating in Trailwalker in a few weeks, but also those who just wish to develop skills on the hills. Search for Brigade of Gurkhas Running Club on Strava if you are interested!
