The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers (QGE) recently run an eFIFA tournament at Invicta Park Barracks. The players either played from a social facility, following social distancing, whilst others played from there houses or single accommodation rooms through internet connections allowed.
This provided an opportunity for QGE personnel to participate in an enjoyable competition for team cohesion outside of work. It enhanced teamwork and self-discipline during pandemic lockdown period after challenge a challenge from The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (1 RGR) to play there winning eFIFA team from a few weeks ago.
The competition was played between best 20 players from 69 and 70 SQN, any rank permitted. The overall winner of the competition was Sapper Prakash (69 SQN) and Sapper Devendra (70 SQN).
They will be representing QGE in order to decide the best overall Brigade of Gurkhas team.
The event was organised by Corporal Suryahang Rai, Sapper Prakash Gurung, Sapper Hemanta Gurung, Sapper Wagok Rai
