Run the distance of Mount Everest height, each with a DOKO, for the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

The Platoon Sergeants from 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles, C (Mogaung) Company, who all joined the Army in same year (2004), are organising a charity event “Race to Sagarmatha”, and will each be carrying a DOKO and running the distance of the height of Mount Everest in HKIA Kabul, Afghanistan.

The intent is to introduce the reputation of the Gurkhas and presenting the DOKO race to our wider multinational counterparts, which is the toughest selection process that young Nepalese men go through to join the British Army and become a Gurkha Riflemen.

The money raised from both online donations and cash in theatre will be donated to the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) who support the Gurkha Veterans and their families back in Nepal.
