On the 31st of August 2022, the 218 trainees of Re

On the 31st of August 2022, the 218 trainees of Recruit Intake 22 were presented with their cap badges as they have been assigned to the various cap badge organisations of the Brigade of Gurkhas. All the trainees achieved assignment to one of their top three choices, having been asked a few weeks back which part of the Brigade they would prefer to join. This year 69.72% of the trainees got their first-choice assignment.

Captain Ram Rai from Queen’s Gurkha Engineers was commended during the Sapper Games 22 because of his dedication and contribution to badminton across the Corps of Royal Engineers. The individual impact that he made to promote and encourage new talents, enabling and supporting teams throughout the year 2021 was recognized on the day.

Corporal Madhu Ghimire from the Gurkha Company (Si

Corporal Madhu Ghimire from the Gurkha Company (Sittang) participated in the Tri-Service WT Army Taekwondo championship, at HMS Nelson, Portsmouth. He managed to secure two silver medals for the Kyorugi (full contact sparring) and Poomsae (patterns) categories. He has now been selected for the UK Armed Forces Team.
