In December the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas performed a Christmas concert at All Saints Church in Lydd for the local community.
The Band has performed many concerts in Lydd for the community and the town is not far from the home of the band in Folkstone. The concert featured a mix of traditional military and concert band music along with some popular contemporary and traditional Christmas music.
I was given the opportunity to perform a solo on my Tuba and then our contemporary duo performed the song What A Wonderful World with singer Staff Sergeant Mani Rai and saxophonist Sergeant Gajendra Gurung.
The audience also expressed great appreciation for the bagpipers from The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles who performed some popular pipe tunes along with the band.
