The Everest Challenge On Stairs

5th May 2020

The Everest Challenge On Stairs

Second Lieutenant Sam Davies (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment) took on an extraordinary challenge to scale the height of Mt Everest at home.

He managed to complete the challenge by climbing 2,500 floors – 400 times up the seven-storey building, burning 10,500 calories and ascending the equivalent of 8848m in 26hrs 25mins. He has managed to raise over 90% of his fund-raising target and the link will stay open for another 48 hours to allow more donations to come through. With your generosity he can hit the target soon.

You too can take on this challenge and raise money for the Gurkha Welfare Trust. In the spirit of keeping things moving this year, we are encouraging our supporters to join us in setting themselves the challenge of scaling the largest mountain in the world – Beginning 1 May, over 12 weeks, and from their own homes.

Open to everyone, no matter your age, health, or ability, this is a challenge to keep active during these testing times. Those who finish will be posted a victory medal for their efforts.
