Congratulations to Lance Corporal Sanam Lingthep, Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR), Private Upendra Gurung and Private Sagar Roka both from 1 Squadron QOGLR for successfully passing the All Arms Commando Course. After completing the gruelling 30-mile test across Dartmoor, they were presented with the prestigious Commando Green Beret.

Lance Corporal Sanam Lingthep was awarded with The Commandant’s prize for his exceptional performance throughout the course. Well done also to both Sergeant Anil Tamang and Corporal Santosh Rai for their commitment in managing the soldiers on the course from the Regiment.

Gurkha Company Catterick update April 21

Gurkha Company Catterick has officially started a challenge to mark the Nepalese new Year 2078 B.S. It will attempt to complete 2078km to mark our Nepalese New Year 2078 B.S. The event kicked off on the 1st April 21 with the Officer Commanding Gurkha Company Catterick formally marking the start. So far three platoons have completed 207.8km each totalling 623.4 km.

The rest of the distance will be covered in upcoming days up to the 17th April 2021.
The Nepalese New year 2078 B.S. is on the 14th April.

Exercise Dynamic Victory Commissioning Course Sandhurst - Spring Term

Exercise DYNAMIC VICTORY is the final field exercise of the British Army Officer Cadets which usually takes place in Germany but due to current pandemic, it was held in Sennybridge training area (SENTA) in March 2021.

Exercise Dynamic Victory is one of the milestones where every senior officer cadet must pass certain tasks and criteria during the exercise.

38 members from Gurkha Company (Sittang) performed vital roles during the exercise under the command of Captain Tarjan Gurung to support the exercise.

Gurkha Company (Sittang) fulfilled enemy role (Red Force), two Gun groups attached to the Company’s (Blue Force) and two teams of Police (Green Force). This was my first Exercise Dynamic Victory and my aim was to be provide close fire support as a Gun Group and demonstrate our light Infantry excellence in close combat during each phase of the exercise. At the end, we managed to take a group photo with our three young officers who are very shortly joining The Royal Gurkha Rifles and become part of our family.
