Engineer Trade Training Completed for Recruit Intake 20

The Queen's Gurkha Engineers 74 Training Party Kasam Khane Parade took place on the 12th March 2021.

Brigadier John Clark CBE was the reviewing officer at the parade which took place at Minley near Camberley UK. A total of 70 QGE Sappers took the oath under The Queen’s Gurkha Engineer’s Flag.

The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 R

The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 RGR) virtually participated in Exercise BERSAMA GOLD 21. The exercise was part of the Five Power Defence Arrangement (FPDA) series and was attended by joint services from all five member nations. This Exercise was hosted by the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). The focus was on Sea and Air, with an HN land component conducting a tactical exercise independently of the remaining member nations. The remaining member nations’ land components, including 2 RGR, attended a virtual conference discussing Jungle Operations.

Congratulations to the 60 Squadron teams from the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment for achieving Gold medals on Cambrian Patrol 2021. The team from the Czech Republic, who they have hosted and trained with, have won Silver medals.

110 personnel from 70 Gurkha Field Squadron, Royal

110 personnel from 70 Gurkha Field Squadron, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Deployable Engineering Workshop and other attachments are currently deployed on an engineering construction project in RAF Akrotiri, Sovereign Base Area Cyprus. The Squadron is constructing two large buildings which will be utilised as a boat storage and boat club facilities for service personnel and their families. The work will include a concreting task for a slipway extension the another area at the Tunnel Beach, Episkopi.

Whilst the Squadron remains busy concurrently working on several construction projects, Squadron members are also participating in multi-activity adventure training, educational visits and running charity events and celebrate our festivities.

The Queen's Gurkha Engineers the Commissioning Parade 2021 saw Captain Hemraj Gurung, Captain Chandrabahadur Pun and Captain Ramkumar Rai were officially commissioned by Brigadier John Clark CBE. All Nepalese Gurkha Officers start life as Gurkha recruit soldiers, selected in Nepal from over 12,000 applicants per year.
