Update from Gurkha Coy Catterick – Jan/ Feb 2015 Newsletter

The 2015 intake of 230 Trainee Riflemen are now into week fifteen of the Gurkha Combat Infantrymen Course.

Currently the eight Platoons are split in half, as ‘A’ and ‘B’ Wings. ‘A’ Wing have just completed a three week English language package, while ‘B’ Wing continued with military skills training. All recruits are being taught in Close Quarter Combat using the Kukri, which uses Teakwondo as its foundation.

The last three months have been busy with training, community engagement and official visits to Gurkha Company. They have also welcomed their new Commanding Officer, Lt Col BPN Ramsey OBE (Welsh Guards) to Gurkha Company.
