What Captain Buddhibahadur Gurung did not know was that hidden away in a store in the Officers’ Mess was a Silver statuette of his Grandfather Rifleman Bhanbhagta Gurung VC.

The piece of silver was gifted to the Infantry Battle School by 3/2 Gurkha Rifles in memory of the Battalion which fought in the Burma. It his was recently discovered while the Officers’ Mess silver was being inspected by a Silver Consultant.
