Gurkha Company (Sittang) are key to the training success at Sandhurst
The final test exercise for the Senior Term Officer Cadets (OCdts) at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is known as Exercise DYNAMIC VICTORY.
This exercise has been specifically designed to assess and validate the physical, conceptual, and moral fitness of the OCdts for commissioning. Each term, the senior term OCdts, along with support staff and instructors, are deployed to Germany.
For Commissioning Course 232, they deployed in March 24, consisting of 162 OCdts. Of those were 136 UK and 26 International OCdts.
Phase 1 involves Live Firing Tactical Training at the Grafenwohr training area up to Platoon level, while Phase 2 focuses on the Field Training Exercise at the Hohenfels training area. This Exercise saw a platoon of the French Officers Cadets and a Platoon from 5 Scots attached. Plus integration of the US Army Striker, Armoured vehicles and Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Training Support Unit (TSU), which includes Gurkha Company (Sittang), plays a crucial role in the overall execution and success of the exercise. TSU provides essential support in various aspects, such as direct training support, enemy simulation, communications, logistics, and centralized feeding. Lieutenant Colonel D P O’Connor, the Commanding Officer of TSU, visited the exercise to ensure proper planning and to emphasize the significant role of TSU/Gurkha Company (Sittang).
