On 25 June 2025, members of the Brigade of Gurkhas and invited guests gathered on Old College Square, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for the annual Brigade of Gurkhas Sounding Retreat. Taking the salute and our principle guest was Mr Alistair Cairns, Minister for Veterans and People at the Ministry of Defence.
Prior to the retreat guests gathered for drinks and to catch up with old friends and for each of the cap badges of the Brigade to take their own formal photos on Old College steps.
The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, and Bagpipers from across the Brigade then performed a marching band display and sounded retreat, with sunset and the National Anthems.
The guests then moved to the Old College Dining Room for a formal dinner. In his speech, Major General Jez Strickland DSO MBE (Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas), thanked the Brigade for a another great year, and highlighted some key achievements, before dinner was served. The end of the evening was marked by more entertainment by the Gurkha Band, and the regimental marches.
