On Thursday 9 January 2025, Headquarters Brigade of Gurkhas hosted Lieutenant General Richard Wardlaw CB OBE and Mrs Judith Wardlaw to thank them both for his four-year tenure as our Colonel Commandant, having now handed over to Major General Gerald Strickland DSO MBE. Lieutenant General Wardlaw CB OBE began his time with the Brigade in The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers, completing every level of command until taking on the strategic oversight for all British Gurkhas.⁠
