Gurkha Band to perform at the The Household Division Military Musical Spectacular

    |

Renowned for its stunning displays of discipline and musical excellence, The Military Musical Spectacular returns to the historic setting of Horse Guards Parade this July, bringing together the best of British Military music and international guests. Inspiring a Nation is influenced by those who have fostered a spirit of unity in communities and the country and left us all with a lasting legacy.

For the first time ever, The Household Division is collaborating with Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals, presenting a stunning finale of the most phenomenal and thrilling music from Phantom of the Opera and CATS.

Presenting visual splendour and inspired by music and tradition, the Bands of the Household Cavalry, Grenadier, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards are joined by the Pipes and Drums of the Scots Guards and The London Scottish Regiment. The Band and Bugles of The Rifles alongside The Band of The Brigade of Gurkhas make their debut performance at this year’s show, all combining in a musically stunning performance.

Making their debut on Horse Guards Parade are the spectacular Top Secret Drum Corps flying in directly from Switzerland. This incredible group of young drummers, known for their precision, humour and thrilling tempo, have toured the world in the last 20 years with passion, imagination and dedication and have proven themselves to be a sustainable world-class act. They march onto Horse Guards for the most unique performance with the Foot Guards Bands.

Alongside the Top Secret Drum Corps we welcome the Big Band from the NATO headquarters in Belgium. Formed by musicians from throughout the organisation, they support the alliance in music worldwide and are sure to inspire an international flavour to the 2026 Military Musical Spectacular.

Lecture – Sustain to Victory Resupplying the 14th Army

    |
    Gurkha Museum Winchester Winchester

The Burma campaign was fought in the most demanding environment of the Second World War. Despite limited resources, the allied forces in the Far East achieved remarkable victories through ingenuity, determination, and adaptability.

Defeating the Japanese with the level of resupply available to the Allies in Northwestern Europe would have been a remarkable achievement. Achieving victory in the Far East with such limited resources is an inspirational story of endurance, dedication, innovation and adaption.

Join Lieutenant Colonel Mike Tickner, a retired Regular Army officer as he explores these inspiring campaigns. With a deep interest in the British Army in India, particularly the Far East campaigns and the Northwest Frontier, Mike has led battlefield studies in India and South-East Asia.
