On 4 July 2025, Lance Corporal (LCpl) Suraj (Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support) represented the British Army at the Army Martial Arts Association (AMAA) World Taekwondo Army Open Championships, held at the Combat Sports Centre in Aldershot.
Competing across the British Army personnel, LCpl Suraj secured one Gold and one Silver medal, showcasing exceptional technique, discipline, and competitive spirit.
Later that evening, during the AMAA’s 30th Anniversary Dinner Night at the Officers’ Mess, St Omer Barracks, he was awarded the distinguished Army Colours, for his ongoing commitment and excellence in World Taekwondo within British Army Martial Arts.
