The Brigade of Gurkhas Drill Instructor Course Passing Out Parade 26-01 was held at Sir John Moore Barracks on 28 January 2026. For two weeks the Brigade Training Team have been taken the course on a journey to improve their knowledge about the Brigade and become first-class drill instructors for the Brigade of Gurkhas.
This knowledge can now be taken back to their units and passed on through training to others. It also prepares the individuals for training roles with Gurkha Training Company and other training organisations around the British Army.
The inspecting officer was Major David Walker (The Royal Gurkha Rifles), who is currently Chief of Staff Headquarters Brigade of Gurkhas.
Congratulations to all those on the course. The Best Drill Instructor Award was presented to Lance Corporal Gobindhra Buda Magar, recognising his outstanding leadership, precision, and exemplary instructional standards.
