
Meritorious Service Medal for Warrant Officer Class Two Yambahadur Gurung
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) hosted The Kings Birthday Honours List Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) presentations 2025. The ceremony took place on 5 December 2025 at the Indian Army Memorial Room, Old College. The Chief of the General Staff General Sir Roly Walker KCB DSO, and the Army Sergeant Major (Army SM) Warrant Officer Class One John Miller, presented the medals to the recipients.
Warrant Officer Class Two Yambahadur Gurung has served over 32 years of distinguished service in Brigade of Gurkhas and the British Army since he enlisted on 25 February 1993. His service has incorporated a varied career across a range of departments including Second in Command Recce Platoon, Company Sergeant Major Support Company, Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS) (T) & (M) with The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifle, instructor roles in close observation and advisory team at the Defence Logistic School.
He was posted to RMAS as RQMS Old College in January 2019, where he is responsible for Logistics support to Regular Commissioning Course and Commissioning Course Short (Reserves). Due to his professionalism, commitment and faithful service to the Brigade of Gurkhas and the British Army, he was awarded MSM 2025 on The King’s Birthday Honour List 2025.
