Signaller Roshan Basnet (Queen’s Gurkha Signals), together with Private Sudarshan Malla and Private Bishan Limbu (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment), organised a charity initiative during their deployment to the Falkland Islands – Seven Days of Grind.

Over the course of seven consecutive days, each participant completed a daily 90km of watt-biking and 10km of rowing, culminating in a combined total of 2,100km over seven days. This physically and mentally demanding challenge was a testament to their endurance, discipline, and commitment to a meaningful cause.

The event concluded with a Gurkha Curry Night, attended by over 100 military personnel and civilians. The evening not only celebrated the successful completion of the challenge but also highlighted the deep respect and admiration held for the Gurkhas within the Falkland Islands community.

The team raised £1,008.20 in support of the Falklands Conservation charity, an organisation dedicated to preserving the unique wildlife and natural environment of the Falkland Islands. In recognition of their efforts, the Joint Civil Secretariat Unit Headquarters, British Forces South Atlantic Islands, and the Chief Executive Officer of Falkland Conservation presented the team with a Certificate of Appreciation.
