Fallen of Afghanistan portrait series by Kev Wills (Veteran) supported by Veterans Can
On 27 March 2025, Gurkhas, veterans, staff from Veterans Can…, local dignitaries, and Dame Joanna Lumley, the guest of honour, convened at the Gurkha memorial in Aldershot to initiate the project aimed at relocating the portraits to Nepal.
In May, the team will embark on their journey to Nepal, where the portraits will be presented to The Gurkha Memorial Museum in Pokhara.

The Fallen of Afghanistan portrait series honours the 457 service personnel lost in Afghanistan serving in the British military. Since 2020, Kev has painted, framed and sent each portrait to the next of kin, former colleague or nit of the fallen so they are never forgotten.
