The Attestation and Commissioning Parade for the Recruit Intake 24 who joined the Queen’s Gurkha Signals was held at Gamecock Barracks in Bramcote on 23 January 2025. The event saw 48 new trainees formally Attested into the Regiment and three officers commissioned.
The parade was attended by distinguished guests including Colonel NC Bruce ADC (Corps Colonel Royal Corps of Signals), Warrant Officer Class One A Jarman (Corps Sergeant Major Royal Corps of Signals) and other senior officers from both the Corps and the Regiment. The ceremony began with an inspection by the Inspecting Officer, Colonel of the Regiment Brigadier Mike Fayers, accompanied by the Commander Queen’s Gurkha Signals Lieutenant Colonel John Carey and Gurkha Major Maj Suresh Limbu.

During the ceremony, the recruits pledged their oaths in both English and Nepali, followed by blessings from the Pandit and the Padre, symbolising the union of tradition and military discipline. The event also included the commissioning of three officers – Captain Dipal Gurung, Captain Robin Gurung, and Captain Prakash Chhantyal into the Regiment. The parade concluded with an impressive march-past led by Sergeant Lal Limbu (Training Coordinator) featuring the newly attested trainees and their instructors.
After the parade, the trainees were assigned their respective trades.

They now prepare to begin their initial trade training at 11 (Royal School of Signals) Signal Regiment in Blandford.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Queen’s Gurkha Signals 75th Birthday Parade painting, unveiled by the Colonel of the Regiment, the painting beautifully captures the essence of the Regiment’s proud heritage and traditions. The painting will be displayed in the Queen’s Gurkha Signals heritage room in Bramcote.
