249 Gurkha Signal Squadron marked its 6th Anniversary on 5 Jun 25 during Exercise WARFIGHTER 25.4 in Texas, USA. The Squadron was officially reformed on 29 May 2019 as part of 3rd (United Kingdom) Division Signal Regiment. Over the past five years, the Squadron has gone from strength to strength and now it is a highly competent and extremely cohesive unit.
The Squadron has played a pivotal role in the evolution of Concept Development and Capability Development for Command Post survivability and mobility, conceptualising ‘How We Fight 2026’ (HWF26) doctrine, and maintaining its prominence in the 7 Signal Group and 3rd (United Kingdom) Division.
Our people are leading events from the front, including military activities, sport, adventurous training, charitable or social activities fostering a deep cultural understanding and strong relationship building across the regiment.
This has not without its challenges, delivering across this many fronts requires capacity, selfless commitment, and bags of talent, but the Squadron’s level of performance, ability to embrace opportunities, and the resultant successes speak volumes for our culture, Gurkha Kaida, and the potential of our people.
