On 3 July 25, personnel of The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (1 RGR) and British Forces Brunei (BFB) gathered to bid a heartfelt farewell to Major Jiwan Pun (Gurkha Major 1 RGR/ BFB). A traditional Tow Out ceremony took place, as a tribute to his outstanding service, leadership, and unwavering dedication.
Surrounded by fellow officers and soldiers, civilian staff and family members, the event was a powerful reflection of the legacy he leaves behind. His family members were the honoured guests, who have been an essential part of his remarkable journey which he proudly acknowledged.
He thanked all 1 RGR service personnel at BFB members for their continued professionalism to the unit and brigade.


All ranks of 1RGR/ BFB are grateful to him for their exemplary service to the Paltan and the community and wish their family the very best for next chapter.
Major Jiwan Pun was enlisted into the Brigade of Gurkhas in January 1995. He has deployed on Operations in Bosnia (1997 and 2003), Kosovo (1999, 2005 and 2019), Afghanistan (2007, 2010, 2012 and 2018) and Somalia (2021).
