Regimental Headquarters Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support (GSPS) organised a number of key events at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) Camberley on the 25th of November 2022. Firstly, the GSPS Kasam Khane Parade (Oath of Allegiance to GSPS) and Commissioning Parade in front of Robertson House with the event attended by the serving GSPS members and their families gathering from across the UK. A total of thirteen soldiers from various Intakes took the oath and Captain Niraj Gurung was formally commissioned.
The day started early with GSPS Kasam Khane Parade (Oath of Allegiance to GSPS) and Commissioning Parade in front of the Robertson House at RMAS in the morning of Friday 25th of November 2022, the event was attended by the serving GSPS members and their families coming from across the UK. Total of thirteen soldiers from various Intakes took the oath and Captain Niraj Gurung was formally commissioned.
GSPS All Ranks Annual Forum took place in the afternoon, chaired by the Officer Commanding GSPS Major Narendra K Gurung. It was an opportunity for the Officer Commanding to collectively address the GSPS and update on the progress, challenges and opportunities ahead, and to layout the direction of march for the GSPS. It also allowed Officer Commanding to understand the immediate concerns of the soldiers and officers.
In the evening, the Regimental Officers’/Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ Ladies Dinner Night was held at the Indian Army Memorial Room, Old College RMAS attended by the GSPS ladies and distinguished guests; Brigadier A D Griffiths OBE (Colonel GSPS) and Colonel David Robinson (Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas). The opportunity was taken to congratulate a World Champion amongst GSPS Pariwar, Mrs Clare Griffiths for her amazing achievement as a member of the England Women’s Masters Hockey Team winning the Masters Hockey World Cup 2022.
It was also a sad day to bid farewell to Warrant Officer Class One Priyachandra Rai Superintendent Clerk /Second in Command GSPS. After 24 years distinguished service with the GSPS and Brigade of Gurkhas, Warrant Officer Class One Priya transfers to AGC(SPS) on extension of service.
