Operation CORDED 5, Zambia - 2 RGR

Soldiers from The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles have raised the British flag in a ceremony at Hook Bridge Camp, Zambia signifying the start of Operation CORDED 5.

Operation CORDED is the British Army’s contribution to counter-poaching operations in Africa and is just one of several UK deployments which ensure a number of states across Africa can respond appropriately and proportionally to the security threats they face, including terrorism, the illegal wildlife trade, violations of human rights and emerging humanitarian crises. The RGR have been heavily involved in Operation CORDED from its inception, utilising bushcraft and tracking skills honed in the jungles of Brunei.

We will track their activities over the coming months so keep an eye on our website.
