On the 26th of July 24, during the farewell event of Commanding Officer the Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR), Warrant Officer Class Two (WO2) Praveen Kishor Rai was presented with the rank of Warrant Officer Class One taking over role of the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 RGR).
Captain Dik Limbu, former RSM 2 RGR was officially commissioned as a Late Entry Officer.
Colour Sergeant Nagendra Thapa and Colour Sergeant Bipen Rai Sangpang were promoted to the rank of WO2, taking over Platoon Commander and Chief Instructor Assault Pioneer respectively at at Gurkha Company (Tavoleto) in Warminster.
