On 28 March 2025, the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers 78th Training Party, Kasam Khane Parade took place at Invicta Barracks, Maidstone. This saw the 43 new Sappers of Recruit Intake 24, who recently completed their Combat Engineering Class Two course being attested before assignment to their Squadrons.

The Inspecting Officer for the parade was Major General J L Clarke CBE (Colonel QGE). The troops marched on to musical support from The Band of the Brigade Gurkhas and were then inspected by the Inspecting Officer and other senior Officers.

  • Overall Top Combat Engineer Student – Sapper Bikesh Limbu
  • Top Academic Student – Sapper Keshab Datt Bhat
  • The Resilient Soldier Award – Sapper Bibek Limbu
  • Top Section Commander Award – Corporal Deepak Magar

The QGE has seen additional Squadrons form in recent years to meet the needs of the British Army. The newly trained Sappers will soon be performing key roles in their Squadrons, who are all busy supporting Operations and Exercises around the world.
