Remembrance Sunday Services were held across Nepal by British Gurkhas Nepal on Sunday 9 November 2025, to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

In Kathmandu, a two-minute silence was observed by heads of foreign missions in Nepal, chiefs of Nepal’s security Departments, British Gurkha veterans and community, BGN military personnel, families and civilian staff to remember the Armed Forces, their families and all those who lost their lives as a result of conflict. Paying their respects were, His Excellency Mr Rob Fenn (His Majesty’s Ambassador to Nepal), General Ashok Raj Sigdel (Chief of Army Staff, Nepali Army), Chandra Kuber Khapung (Inspector General of Nepal Police), Colonel Dan Rex MVO (Defence Attaché/Commander BGN/Director Gurkha Welfare Trust (Nepal)) and Major Bal Krishna Rana (Chair Regimental Association Nepal (RAN)), who laid the wreaths at the Gurkha monument.

In Dharan a Remembrance Service attended by Gurkha veterans and families and BGN military and civilian Staff, saw Major Kiran Pun MVO, Gurkha Major BGN and the representatives from the Regimental Association Nepal (RAN), laid wreaths at the monument in the British Gurkha Cemetery in Dharan.

A Service took place at Gurkha Memorial Museum, Pokhara, led by Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Fenn (Field Director, The Gurkha Welfare Trust)  and Major James Hornby (Officer Commanding BGP) with Gurkha veterans and BGN Officers and Staff paying their respects.

A further Remembrance Parade took place on the Armistice Day 11 November 2025 at BGN Kathmandu. Commander BGN, Deputy Commander BGN and the Civil Secretary BGN, laid the wreaths of tribute at the Gurkha monument. Corporal Jitbahadur Gurung (BGN Piper), played ‘The Flowers of the Forest’ resonating the theme of the occasion.
