Leading Innovation in Army Drone Capability

Sergeant Anil Rai of 69 Gurkha Field Squadron, currently serving at the sUAS Centre in Lulworth as an instructor and Demolition Safety Officer (DSO), continues to play a pivotal role in the British Army’s rapidly advancing drone capability.

As the Army’s only Royal Engineer qualified both as a DSO and as an FPV One Way Attack Commander, he recently supported 2 PARA during the British Army’s first live drone strike training serial, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of live payload training.

His achievements represent a proud milestone for The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers and stand as a testament to professional excellence at the forefront of Army innovation.
