36 new Riflemen from Recruit Intake 2023 have officially joined The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles in Brunei this week. They completed their 39-week basic infantry training at Infantry Training Centre, Catterick at the end of 2023. They will now become part of the battalion and start to learn their new role and respect from the Gurkhas around them.
This will include training in the challenging environment of the Jungles of Brunei. They could also deploy to other parts of the Indo-Pacific as part of the British Army’s wider Defence exercises and operations in the area.
