28 personnel from the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers (67 and 69 Gurkha Field Squadrons), have safely returned from Op TOSCA 39, after a 6-month demanding tour. Led by Lieutenant Harris and Sergeant Ganga (69 Squadron). The team delivered numerous missions that aided in maintaining the integrity of security and stability of the Cyprus Buffer Zone, under direct command from the United Nations Force Commander in Cyprus.
During the tour there were a number of significant achievements.
- Led 5 Major Operations
- Set new Standing Operational Procedures.
- Won the United Nations Peacekeeping Skills Competition, setting new records during the event.
- Supported the local community by organising charity events
- Corporal Ushal received a Force Commander Commendation
- Lance Corporal Dinesh received a Commanding Officer’s Coin
