69 Gurkha Field Squadron have been deployed as the Public Duties Reinforcement Company in London, from the 20th of September until the 29th of November 2024. The duties involve mounting the Guard at St James Place, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London.
The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas has also supported a number of the Guard Mounts undertaken by the Squadron.
This activity is a major tourist attraction, and people flock from around the world so see the guard mounts. The added attraction comes when units from the Brigade of Gurkhas are involved.
