Gurkha Success at the Army Summer Powerlifting Championships 2025

On 18 June 2025, powerlifters from across the Army gathered at Prince William of Gloucester Barracks in Grantham, for the Army Summer Powerlifting Championship.

Competing in the highly competitive 66kg bodyweight category, Sapper Rabindra Tamang (67 Squadron, The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers) delivered an outstanding performance to secure the gold medal with a combined total of 530kg:

• Squat – 195kg
• Bench Press – 117.5kg
• Deadlift – 217.5kg
